One job I would definitely not like to do is working as a telemarketer. The thought of cold-calling people all day, trying to sell products or services, doesn’t appeal to me at all. First of all, I find the idea of interrupting people at home or work to pitch something quite uncomfortable. It would feel invasive and awkward, especially when dealing with irritated or uninterested individuals. The constant rejection and negative responses could be quite demoralizing over time. Additionally, telemarketing requires a high level of persistence and resilience, which, while admirable, isn’t aligned with my strengths or interests. The repetitive nature of the job, making the same pitch over and over again, would likely become monotonous and unfulfilling for me. I also value face-to-face interactions and the ability to build genuine connections with people, which is something that telemarketing lacks. Being stuck in a cubicle, speaking to strangers through a headset for hours on end, seems quite isolating. Overall, while telemarketers play an essential role in many businesses, it’s not a job that suits my personality or work preferences. I prefer roles that involve creativity, personal interaction, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

What kind of jobs do young Vietnamese people like to do?

There’s no single answer to this as it depends on the person. However, I see a lot more young Vietnamese interested in tech fields – things like software development or digital marketing. Creative careers, like graphic design or even becoming social media influencers, are gaining popularity too. Of course, some young people still prefer traditional paths like medicine or law, but there’s definitely a shift towards jobs that feel more modern and dynamic.

Do young Vietnamese people prefer to choose an interesting job or a job with a high salary?

I think that balance is really important to many young Vietnamese. Ideally, you want a job you find interesting that also pays well enough to live comfortably. But, since job markets are competitive, sometimes you gotta prioritize one over the other. It just depends on your individual circumstances. Many of my friends would take a less exciting job if it paid really well, but have a passion project they work on in their free time to keep the creative spark alive.

Do you think it is easier to get a job now than in the past?

It’s a mixed bag. Technology has definitely created new job opportunities that didn’t exist before. But, competition is also higher – you’re not just competing against people in your city anymore, but potentially globally. I think having strong skills and being able to demonstrate your value is more important than ever. While finding a job isn’t necessarily “easy,” it’s perhaps more about how adaptable and resourceful you are.

Is it important to be successful in a job?

I think that depends on how you define “success”. Obviously, we all want to do well in our jobs and feel competent. Financial stability is also important, as our work often needs to support ourselves and maybe even a family. But job success can also mean finding work you’re passionate about, feeling recognized by colleagues, or having opportunities to learn and grow. Success can have many different faces.

Do you think Al will take over many jobs?

Definitely, some jobs are more vulnerable to AI automation than others. Tasks that are repetitive, predictable, and data-driven are most at risk. But AI also creates new jobs that didn’t exist before – people specializing in designing, maintaining, and ethically controlling those AI systems. The key is being adaptable and continually learning new skills that stay ahead of what machines can do.

Can Al improve people’s lives?

If so, how? Absolutely! AI has the potential for a major positive impact. Imagine AI-powered healthcare tools that diagnose diseases earlier or assist in complex surgeries. AI can analyze vast amounts of data, finding patterns humans might miss. It could optimize things like traffic flow, energy use… the potential is huge, though it’s crucial to address ethical concerns as well.
