What subjects are you studying?

The sense of making a positive difference in the world adds to the satisfaction I get from my studies.

Why did you choose to study that subject?

Well, I chose Computer Science because of my fascination with technology and its impact on our lives. Do you think that your subject is popular in your country?

Yes, Computer Science is quite well-liked in Vietnam. With the growing tech industry and the demand for skilled professionals, more students are showing interest in this field. This popularity is also driven by the success stories of tech startups and the influence of global technological trends. Also, the government’s support for STEM education has played a role in promoting Computer Science among the youth.

Do you have any plans for your studies in the next five years?

In the next five years, I hope to finish my degree and gain some practical experience through internships or fieldwork in environmental conservation. I also plan to be actively involved in environmental advocacy and research. My goal is to participate in international conferences and workshops to broaden my perspective and understanding. Engaging in collaborative projects with environmental organizations is also on my agenda.

What are the benefits of being your age?

Actually, one of the biggest benefits of being my age is being more adaptable to change. We’re at an age where we can easily learn and adapt to new technologies and ideas, which is crucial in this rapidly changing world. Being at this stage of life also means having fewer responsibilities, allowing more time for personal development and exploration. Plus, this is the age where forming new friendships and professional networks can be most impactful.

Do you want to change your major?

No, I don’t think so. Computer Science and Mathematics are areas I am genuinely passionate about. I believe they offer a lot of exciting opportunities and challenges that align with my career aspirations. Plus, the integration of these fields in emerging technologies like AI and data science really excites me. I’m keen on being part of an industry that’s constantly evolving and shaping our future.

Do you prefer to study in the mornings or in the afternoons?

I definitely favor studying in the mornings. I find that my mind is fresher and more focused after a good night’s sleep. Also, mornings are quiet and less distracting, which helps me to be more productive in my studies. This routine allows me to free up my afternoons and evenings for leisure activities or part-time work. I feel it helps maintain a healthy balance between my academic and personal life.

How much time do you spend on your studies each week?

I typically allocate around 30 to 35 hours a week on my studies. This includes attending lectures, doing research, completing assignments, and revising for exams. It’s almost like a full-time job, but I’m committed to doing well. Balancing this workload with social life and extracurricular activities can be challenging, but it’s crucial for a well-rounded university experience. I also make sure to include breaks and downtime to avoid burnout.

10/ Are you looking forward to working? Yes, I am, though with a bit of apprehension. Transitioning from student life to professional work is a big step, and I’m curious to see how I’ll adapt. I’m definitely looking forward to the challenges and learning opportunities it will bring. I am also aware of the importance of work-life balance and the need to continuously learn and grow professionally.

What technology do you use when you study?

I primarily use my laptop for studying. In fact, it’s indispensable for researching, writing papers, and accessing online courses. Besides, I use apps on my smartphone for organizing my schedule and setting study reminders. The combination of these technologies helps me stay efficient and on track with my academic goals. Cloud storage services are also crucial for backing up my work and accessing it from anywhere.

What changes would you like to see in your school?

I’d like to see more diversity in course offerings, especially in emerging fields. Also, updating the technology and infrastructure to keep pace with modern advancements would be great. More collaborative and interactive learning spaces would also enhance the learning experience. In addition, I think incorporating more international perspectives and global issues into the curriculum would be incredibly valuable. This could be achieved through exchange programs, guest lectures, and partnerships with universities abroad.

What work do you do?

I work as a graphic designer at the moment. My role is to create visual content for various media like websites, advertising, and print materials. It’s a creative and dynamic field that combines art and technology. Each project offers a new challenge and a chance to express my artistic vision. I also value the opportunity to work with clients from different industries, which broadens my experience and enhances my skills.

Why did you choose to do that type of work (or that job)?

I chose to be a software developer because of my passion for technology and problem-solving. What requirements did you need to meet to get your current job?

To become a software developer, I needed a strong background in computer science, proficiency in various programming languages, and problem-solving skills. Last but not least, the ability to adapt to new technologies and work within a team environment were also critical factors for success.

In the next five years, I plan to expand my skill set by learning new design software and techniques. I’m also aiming to build a strong personal brand and possibly start my own freelance graphic design business. Networking and collaborating with other professionals in my field is another key goal.

What do you think is the most important at the moment?

Currently, I believe maintaining a good work-life balance is of utmost significance. It’s essential to manage my time effectively between my professional responsibilities and personal life, ensuring neither is neglected. This balance is crucial for my mental health and overall well-being, allowing me to be more efficient and happier both at work and at home. In other words, it’s about finding harmony in all aspects of life to achieve personal and professional satisfaction.

Do you want to change to another job?

Well to be quite honest, I am considering a change at this poin. While I enjoy graphic design, I’m interested in branching out into digital marketing. It’s an area that intrigues me and complements my existing skill set. This potential shift could offer a more diverse range of creative challenges and opportunities to integrate my design skills in different contexts. I’m excited about the prospect of merging my artistic abilities with strategic marketing approaches.

Do you miss being a student?

While I cherish my time as a student, I don’t particularly miss it. I’m fairly keen on the challenges and responsibilities of working life. It’s rewarding to apply the knowledge and skills I gained as a student in a practical, real-world context. Working life has given me a different type of learning experience, one that’s more hands-on and directly impacts the work I do.

What technology do you use at work?

In graphic design, I primarily use Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. These tools are essential for creating and editing visual content. Additionally, I use sketching tablets and digital drawing software for more intricate design work. These tools not only enhance my creative output but also allow for seamless integration of feedback, making the design process more dynamic and responsive to client needs.

Who helps you the most?

And how? At work, my colleagues assist me the most. We work as a team, sharing knowledge and ideas, and supporting each other in completing projects. This collaborative approach not only enhances our work but also creates a positive and productive work environment.
